This application was written to assist PGDP control room operators during the transition from the previous DEU system to PICS. The previous DEU system was a collection (4 or 6, depending on building) of single value display devices, each connected to a specific unit computer. The layout of this application (below) mimics the original DEU layout.

The old system worked strictly by point ID numbers, which range from 1 to 999. Each unit had its own set of 1,000 point numbers, so point 123 on Unit 1 might not be the same reading on Unit 2, then again, it might. When the PICS database was derived from the USEC databases, thr original point ID numbers were retained, and multiples of 1,000 were added to make the numbers unique to each unit. So, C-331 Unit 1 has points 1000-1999 and C-335 Unit 2 has points 12,000-12,999, etc. This application understands the point numbering scheme used and allows the operator to enter the original point ID number for the unit selected. A unit may be selected from the "Change" menu, or just by clicking on it with the mouse. When a unit is selected, a keypad data entry dialog appears, shown below:

The operator may click the point ID in on the buttons, or type it in via the keyboard. Clicking the Send button (or pressing the Enter key) will select that point for display. For readability (and personal taste) the fonts and colors used may be configured by using the menu shown below. Windows standard color and font selection dialogs are used.
