PICS Real Time Data Pipe (rtPipe)

At times, it may be desireable to replicate all of the data from one PICS into another.  This is especially true when a customer (or developer) has installed and configured a PICS laboratory system for development of new software and/or displays. After the software is developed, it is often desireable to test with "live" data, but without the risk of crashing a critical PICS system and possibly affecting the plant.

The Real Time Data Pipe was developed for just this purpose. It connects to one PICS as a Real Time TCP Client (subscribing to all points) and provides all of the data received directly into another PICS (similar to the way MUX Control works with 8800 data) for redistribution.
